Farmer’s Wife—Week 7

This week’s blocks for the Farmer’s Wife Quilt-Along were pretty easy, so I decided to slip in an extra one (out of order! gasp!). I know I’ll be missing at least one week in August, maybe even more than one, so it’s nice to be able to work a little ahead right now.

Checkerboard: I’m loving how this one turned out with the darker green background. I had originally planned to use the light green gingham, but realized there wasn’t enough contrast with some of the prints and changed my plan.

Calico Puzzle

Buzzard’s Roost: I’m not a huge fan of this block in general, but I guess it’s okay in these fabrics.

Seventeen done now! I’m hoping to do another extra one next week, which means I can miss a week in August and still be on track.

LOVE the checkerboard!! And the other two are awesome!! All of these blocks look wonderful! Are you going to sew the quilt on point?

Oh, I love that green you used for the background of your checkerboard block!!! Definitely kicks my boring checkerboard's behind 🙂 I love how all of your blocks are looking together – you clearly put lots of thought into your fabric choices because they all mesh so well!

I love the blocks. Thanks to you, I have bought the book and started on the QAL. I have a lot of catch up to do. Right now, I have 5 blocks done, but all the templates from 1-50 printed, glued onto template plastic and cut out. Tonight, I have the dining room table again, so I will be able to cut some of the fabric out.

Thank you for being such an inspiration!!!!
