WIP Wednesday: Guest-Hosted by Svetlana

wipwednesdaybutton-7

Hello, happy Wednesday everyone! My name is Svetlana and I blog over at s.o.t.a.k handmade. I’m so glad to be guest hosting this week’s WIP Wednesday. Thanks for having me, Lee!

I love WIP Wednesdays as they keep me on track and help me “remember” all the projects I should be working on before starting any new ones. Lately it’s been all about preparing for my first-ever craft fair, so I spent most of my sewing time making pouches, pouches, and more pouches.
Here are some of my latest creations.

Thankfully,
the craft fair is on Saturday and I’ll be able to get back to quilting
soon. It’s about time, too. My design wall is overflowing with tons of
unfinished miscellaneous blocks that beg for some love and attention.

I’m planning on using Amy’s fantastic tutorial and making these two blocks into sewing kits.

I’m also looking forward to turning this improv pieced as well as my “think” blocks into pillows. I’ve fallen in love with rectangular pillows lately and both of these will make a nice addition to my pillow collection. Oh, I’m so glad my family does not mind having a gazillion pillows all around the house.

And then there’s this churn dash quilt I’m making as a Christmas present for my FIL. I have almost all the blocks cut out, and most of the HSTs trimmed, now it’s just a question of sitting down and assembling the blocks. Sounds simple, right? That’s going to be my goal for next week. Wish me luck 🙂

Now it’s your turn. What have you been working on this week? Here are the rules for linking up:

1. Link up any post from the past week that features at least one unfinished work-in-progress (WIP).
2. Somewhere in your post, you must link back here to my blog. (Or grab my WIP Wednesday button for your sidebar.)
3. Comment on at least a few of the other WIP Wednesday links. Because what fun is a linky party without comments?

Yep, that second paragraph is me exactly! WiP posts are great to do on a weekly basis because the force me to take a look at what I've finished this week, what I have coming up, what projects are a priority, etc.

I'll be back later to link up; must get the kiddos ready for school!

    Your pouches look perfect!

I would love to do some craft shows but #1, I would want a friend to go with me and #2, I don't know that my work would be good enough! My best sellers are always my dish scrubbies, but I would want to have all of my stuff out.

Love the pouches! I'm a big fan of taking miscellaneous blocks and turning them into something new all by themselves. Sometimes when I'm putting together a paper pieced block, I just like one all by its lonesome for greater impact.

I love the think pillow, very nice! Your pouches are cute too! I am going to make one pouch by the end of the year.. I just need to study all those zipper tutorials out there to build up my confidence. Thanks for hosting this week!
