WIP Wednesday: Back to School

IMG_7074-1

Well, we’re not back to school just yet here in Wisconsin, but I’m in full prep mode! I’ve had such a fun summer hangin’ with my girlies, but I think all three of us have reached the tipping point by now. It’s time, you guys. : )

In that spirit, I’ve been working on a quilt that is back-to-school inspired. Melody Miller’s Picnic line for Cotton + Steel was my starting point for this fabric pull—I dropped a few prints, and then started adding new ones from other lines until I had my final selections. (Starting with a complete line is one of my favorite ways to build a color palette—and I love the unexpected directions a fabric pull can go in as you add and subtract!)

I think this will be a fun quilt for the girls to have around the house this time of year, as we get back into the routine of homework and after-school activities.

This week’s WIP Wednesday is brought to you by my newest sponsor, Bungalow Quilting and Yarn! The Bungalow is an adorable brick-and-mortar shop in Ripon, Wisconsin, which is now also selling fabric online. The Bungalow has the best selection of modern prints in Wisconsin, hands down, so I know it’ll be a great online shopping stop as well.

One of The Bungalow’s signature products are their make-it-yourself umbrella kits. Umbrella frames and patterns are available for purchase, or pick up the September issue of AQS, which includes Bungalow owner Judy Gauthier’s umbrella-making pattern. All you need is the frame and a favorite fabric!

COUPON CODE: The Bungalow is also offering my readers 10% all purchases in the shop! Use code bungalow10 at checkout. Go send them some love!

Okay, so what are you working on this week? Let’s see it!

Your fabric choices are lovely – looking forward to seeing what you do with them. My girls are home educated so there is no back to school time for us ….. although sometimes I wish there was!! Linking up for the first time today and looking to popping over to the others who are linking up.

Oh back to school, how I wish it was out time because we're at the SAME tipping point! I think my son and I might fall apart before too long. Just a few more days then Sept 1st will be here!

Hi Lee, I love your fabric pull and can't wait to see what you do with it. I definitely understand what you mean about it being time for school to start. I have two girls that will be in school this year and it will be a nice change of pace.

I love the Picnic line. Fun colors. I can hardly wait to see what you are going to do with the pretties you've selected. You always do amazing work no matter what you do.

Have fun getting back to school. Blessings!
