Perfect HST Sampler Block 6: Crystal Star

Did you guys notice that it's June already? This year is flying by! And that means I've got another Perfect HST Sampler block to show you!

This is Crystal Star. I adored living in Washington, D.C.'s Dupont Circle neighborhood after college. But my Dupont Circle studio apartment was TEENY, so eventually I decided to look for something bigger in a less expensive neighborhood. I ended up on the other side of the Potomac in Arlington, Virginia's Crystal City area. I've heard rumors that Crystal City is now somewhat of a cool place to live(?), but at the time (1998-ish), it was decidedly not. 😂 Still, my apartment in a Crystal City high-rise was much more spacious, and it had a balcony overlooking Route 1, so I felt like I was moving up in the world. I was living there when I met my husband—who, coincidentally, was also uncool enough to be living in a Crystal City high-rise. I guess it was meant to be! 😂

This block might be my favorite in the whole BOM. It's just so bright and sparkly and colorful. And a number of the HST units we're using this month were made during previous blocks, which makes it go even faster! Love that!
