Good morning! I'm so excited to let you know that my newest quilt pattern, Treeline, is now available in my shop! And happy day: It's fat-quarter/jelly roll friendly!

That's right, all you need to make this quilt are 12 fat quarters OR 1 jelly roll, plus background fabric! Something tells me you might just have that on hand already. 😉Treeline is an easy, beginner-friendly quilt design—perfect to use up that studio stash. This is a log cabin quilt pattern, which is perfect for beginners who are looking to branch out from standard patchwork squares! Log cabin blocks are a dynamic, modern, geometric design with lots of movement, so the design possibilities are endless. If you're a beginner wanting to take that next step in your quilting journey, this pattern would be a great way to do it.

I've also got a video for you with my favorite tips to help you make perfect log cabin blocks, with nice straight seams that are squared off and perpendicular to each other, the way they should be! If you're struggling with making log cabin blocks that are the correct size or have crooked, angled seams, this video should help you correct those problems!

And I had so much fun making multiple versions of Treeline, that YES, I am going to make another one, along with all of you! I'm running a Treeline sew-along, starting on January 4. So grab the pattern now, and you'll be all set for your first project of 2021. Check ✅!

A Treeline sew-along schedule will be coming out soon, so keep your eyes peeled. And get the pattern now, so that you can start collecting your fabric and are ready to go right after the new year.

There are so many ways to make this quilt—you could do a rainbow version, like my bright or more muted rainbow versions shown above. You could also it in fewer colors, like this two-toned blue baby-size version that I made (the lovely crosshatch quilting—and all of the quilting in the photos in this post—was done by Tia Curtis Quilts). Or you could make each set of "logs" in a different color, but make that consistent across all of the blocks. I've included information in the pattern about how to adapt it to use two alternate colorways.

Other pattern features include:

• Make the quilt in 3 different sizes (Baby, Throw, or Twin sizes)
• Coloring pages for each size
• Step-by-step instructions with color illustrations for each step
• Lots of my own tips to help you succeed!

As always, if you make this pattern, please share your work with me and other quilters by using the hashtags #treelinequilt and #leeheinrich. I would LOVE to see what you do with it, and it's a great way to participate in the amazing community of quilters that are out there!
