Giving and Receiving
What a day I had yesterday: I was on both the giving and receiving ends of giveaways.
This lovely photo is by Stitched In Color. I didn't win ALL of this great stuff, but I'm excited about it anyway. : )
First of all: Yes! I actually won a giveaway! First blog giveaway win EVER! I have terrible, awful luck when it comes to winning things. Here's a list of all the prizes I have won in random drawings during my 36 years of existence: A Prairie Home Companion t-shirt, a free ice cream cone, and lunch from Jimmy John's. THAT'S IT. And I won the t-shirt in 1995—at the time, I was a junior in college and might as well have been unaware NPR even existed. So yeah, I'm not traditionally a big fat winner when it comes to these things.
But yesterday I found out that I won the Halloween Fat Quarter Surprise from Stitched In Color! I get a stack of 8 designer fat quarters from Sew Love Fabrics. Ruth of Sew Love will choose what FQs I get, but all of her stuff is so fabulous, I'm sure I'll love whatever she sends. So thank you thank you thank you to Rachel of Stitched In Color and Ruth of Sew Love for brightening my day. And yay for good giveaway karma. I figured it had to happen sometime.
On the other end of the spectrum, I huddled with Elizabeth of Don't Call Me Betsy last week regarding the custom blog header she won in my giveaway. The result of our collaboration is now up and running on Elizabeth's blog. So go on over there and check out her remodeled digs. Hope you like it—and that you all have good giveaway karma too!
