Farmer's Wife—a Laid-Back Week 5
I had a couple of easy breezy blocks for Farmer's Wife this week.
Here's my "Box" block. The fabric stack that I'm using for this QA seems to be increasing with each week that goes by. The prints I used in this block are two of my newest additions. I wanted more prints that weren't florals or dots, but were still vintage-modern. These two definitely fit the bill. The blue plaid is from the Riley Blake "Hoo's In the Forest" collection, and is probably one of my favorite new stash prints! I definitely will have to pick that up in the other colorways. The yellow print is also Riley Blake, from the "Daydream" collection.
And here's block 2, "Bow Tie." Another quick and simple one. I told Elizabeth I wanted more pink in my blocks, so here it is! The hot pink is one of the "Sketch" prints by Timeless Treasures. I needed some near-solids in these blocks, and Sketch's crosshatch print was perfect. In fact, I snatched up the whole Sketch "Poolside" colorway from Fat Quarter Shop.
I thought I might try to make these blocks without using the templates, but when I tried to figure it out, the math was hurting my brain, so I decided using the templates was the lesser of two evils. And it worked out just fine, so I'm going to stick with templating from here on out, even if it's possible to do it without them.
